Boost Solenoid

Hi All,

The boost solenoid on our cars, does it simply go from fully blocked off, to 100% open on application of 12v?

For a different application, i need to find a way to electrically activate and deactivate a vacuum line, and i'm wondering if a car solenoid would do the job.

The boost solenoid is three port but you could blank off the bleed port & get to work as an on/off solenoid probably, plenty of normal solenoids available though.
