Hi,
]Im new to PH and I have a Celica GT 2006. I done a brake conversion on the car from stock to AP Racing and now i need to change my disks since I'm getting really bad pulsating on the pedal when braking. I guess this is down to a warpped disk?

so where can i buy the disks from? looking for the best possible price. standard places like EBC, euro car parts and kwik fit etc dont seem to have the disks or can get them in.

many thanks

Hi Gurjit - you probably need to be on the Celica forum; you've somehow managed to stumble onto the Noble one!
Vibration may be due to warped disk but equally could be excessive run-out on the hubs or build up of brake crud on the pad/disk. I would check out the last 2 options as they are a lot cheaper than replacing disks (only to find the issue reappearing again).

Hey

Thanks I'll check the crud under the pad. How would I check run out?
Also I was meaning to speak to noble members since it's noble disks I've now got on the celica. Wondering where the noble m12 owners buy their disks from.
Thanks

Ap don't sell to the public directly but they said their disks for racing (vanes throw the dust away from the hub) are £225 +vat each! So thought I would try shop around.

AP racing technical said do not skim the disks. Anything off by 6microns will cause steering wheel shake and he said it's not worth it unless you go to a super accurate machine shop. He reckons they are shaking because they probably have been skimmed!
Also my disks had these clips on the vanes almost like weight to try and balance the disks. I've never heard of that before and AP racing chap said it seemed pretty weird.

Anyways if there are any place you guys but your disks from please let me know.

Thanks

There was a lengthy thread on disc shake a while back, I remember reading it before I bought mine. Lots of options discussed such as skimming as well as choice upgrades. Hit the search and have a ganders.

From personal experience I wouldn't bother to scimitar as I had this done on a previous car(350z) and within a thousand miles the problem retuned, but my money didn't!

Thanks tux man.
Just called them and 2 rotors are £470 odd. Does that sound right? Seems very expensive for rotors? Interested to know if anyone else has bought from other places?
