I've had them on for twelve trackdays with no problems. I like them because I am happy going on track in the wet and they give a lot more grip in the wet than 888s while being nearly as good in the dry.

Until there has been a repeat with a range of equally worn tyres of other makes, and more R1Rs, under the same conditions of load, speed, pressures etc., there is no way of knowing the tyres were to blame.

T1Rs and R1Rs are very different. Are you all talking about the same things here...?

Toyo told me that a Noble with 500+ bhp would shred them and advised do not use

My car destroyed brand new R1R's on the rollers, with 480bhp at the time, there was another car where titis let go but I can't remember who

So.... If your car is basically standard and you drive like you plan to go home in it, then R1Rs are fine, if you have serious power and drive on the ragged edge, then something tougher is advisable?

Strange to hear about 1 giving way on the rollers. I have been using toyos now for 8 years. 888s and t1rs giving them death an giving them all kinds of pain and never let me down and I drive like I stole it lol

I have used R1R's and T1R's for both track and normal use. I've been very happy with them, no issues, and especially good in the wet.

Hope that helps.

It was both tyres let go at the same time. smile not saying they are a bad tyre but not the best.

888's are a stronger tyre designed for hard track/race use. the t1 or r1 tyres are very much a road tyre with soft side walls.

MMM, I'm running 500 ponies so will give them a miss then.
I'm not into track days, might do one a year if I'm lucky but would generally like more grip than I have at the moment, I have at present Vredesteins but you certainly get the feeling they are not digging into the tarmac, I think they have a wear rating of about 300, so fairly hard.
Don't want to go overboard on this so suggestions welcome

i run the tr1s and like them compared to the corsas

if you run any tyre on a rolling road, strap it correctly and use a higher tyre pressure
