Hi guys I'm due a service but don't know who to use. I wonder if anyone has any experience with Plans or Mole valley.

Mole valley is much closer. I don't know the cost for either so any guidance appreciated. It's a 46k service on 24k miles

Cheers

Hi Jed

As Im surrey based, i had the same dilema. It was always serviced at MV but for reasons I wont go into I decided to look for other options.

As most would say, Jetstream are the preferred, however i couldnt face a 5hr round trip.

In short I take mine to bespoke performance in ware, its a 50 min drive from me. They know their Nobles and Skip is well known on here. Im very happy with the service they provide.

for six years ive gone to mole valley. next time im going to try bespoke, my mate just took his TVR there and said its quite a place. i always used mole as i thought they were the closest noble specialist but i checked it out on google maps and within about two miles its the same distance as Bespoke for me.
Although i don't think i need a service this year as i there's not much of the original car left.lol

MV:
I used MV for the first few years: always happy with the work (good old Warren) but not always same for their attitude to customer service. They used to offer a loan car (Smart car reg: M12 GTO biggrin (chargable)) and will pick-up/collect to the local station.

Plans:
Went to Plans once, experience all good. In fact, they were the only outfit able to resolve a suspension issue (I think as they've direct experience of setting up track cars) and this was after the factory and MV tried and failed to fix numerous times. They used to offer a loan car.

Bespoke Performance:
Needed a big service last year so tried Bespoke for the first time. Almost a perfect experience (but would still give them a "10"). Will pick-up/collect to the local station.

Jetstream:
No experience, as really too far for me, but people here gush about them constantly so they must be good biggrin

Yes, the challenge for most of us is usually location but I don't mind the occasional train journey x 2.

...HTH

If you haven't see this is the list of service outfit details: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Bespoke also do courtesy cars. Very handy and they help you to appreciate the Noble even more when you collect it.

Yep, just ask. I've always had one when I leave the Noble with them, including the last annual service in November. If you give them more than a few days notice, its pretty much guaranteed I think. Obviously you have to be very nice to Martin as well.biggrin

Its not easy. Laughing at his jokes helps, as does agreeing with his musical tastes.

Tried MV and Plans in the past... Plans failed to diagnose leaking clutch slave. MV have always emptied my bank account too quickly. Jetstream will always get my business.

Thanks guys for all the posts Jetstream seems to be a clear winner and I think I will use them for more major works. I think for a service I can't justify the huge journey.

It seems an equal toss up between MV and plans with equally disappointing customer service. I can deal with that if they do a good job on the car.

Thanks again,

I'd be keen to know just how much the 'service' at MV comes to and then compare it to driving to Jetstream and getting a train home. I've never come out of MV without spending four figures.

I'll give them a call tomorrow and get a price. How much is a service from Jetstream?

You should call both firms up and get a quote for hourly rate (incl vat) for jobs outside of the service and what their service actually consists of. Then there should be no surprises.

I went to a place called Abbey Motorsport in Oxted ,Surrey for a replacement starter motor a couple of years ago .They were incredibly cheap and sourced the right starter without too much trouble .Tried to book my 3r in for a service last year but they were too busy at the time and I could not wait .They are very well known for Nissan Skyline & GTR . I went to bespoke instead and they are very good but would definately give abbey motorsport another try .Their phone number 01883 732331
