Don't suppose anybody knows of a source of carbon tow hooks that isn't Reverie? Mine are looking manky and to be honest, especially the back.

Thanks,

Paul

Carbon tow eyes burst when you need them, smile I don't recommend them.

Jetstream have just sorted me out with some tow straps to try, hope they work better!

Thanks Steve, that would be kind.

I am against time though, so if anybody has anything in the mean time, such as the stainless version they want to flog, that would be really helpful!

I would really like some carbon ones. But I hear the reverie ones snap.

Anyone know of any that actually work??

Both of my reverie carbon tow eyes burst open when trying to use them to pull the car straight out of gravel.

I've looked into it but the concern is any sort of sideways pull would just snap them off in the end they end up pretty thick and look a bit naff . As suggested before the upright design is not the best .

Adrian I didn't even bother calling them, but now you mention it I may as there is something else I'm interested in.

Simon when they snapped there was no sideways pull on them at all, I told the JCB driver to pull straight only and he was gentle, I was in the car to hold the wheel and BANG they split right open, wrapped the sling round the front chassis bar below the rad and it pulled out fine.

I have to put my car on a trailer on a week or so, i was planning on pulling it up onto the trailer with the winch and the standard tow eye, not sounding like a good idea.

Can anyone remember if the lower chassis car, alternative towing point, is easily accessible on a standard road car without removing anything?

Wonder is a screw in type tow hook would work well.

Standard towing eye will be fine to pull the car onto a trailer (unless you leave it in gear with the hand brake on!). Also fine for getting you out of the kitty litter in most instances. My car has had more than it's fair share of both trailer and litter, and the original (now 7yr old) towing eye is fine.

I saw a standard tow eye break while a car was half way up the flatbed of a tow truck, the car rolled back and hit parked cars at the track, never winch with nobody in the drivers seat in case the brakes need deployed!
