I began to dismount the Nob...
I removed the A/C , power steering,water pump and the floor
firsts upgrades are electric power steering,electric water pump (davies craig 150),dual pass mod on proalloy rad and a bit of cleaning end I'll remove the angine to upgrade the gearbox and waiting for the new engine.
...when I removed the floor I've seen that the chassis is in good conditions,but some rusty water went out from the rivets holes...
I was thinking to put some rust protection in the frame...any suggestion?
I will seal with Dynamat the floor and the tunnel and the rear part of the cabin
I'm studying a solution to put some fresh air into the cabin on summertime ...without the need to having the A/C (wich I dont like too much)
The power steering will be with Honda s2000 steering box (wich is totally electric and driven by they'r own ecu) or a compact electric pump wich will be mounted near the stock rack (is what we usually put on drift cars)the pump will only work when needed and does not need a rad.

You right Adrian ...here the most of drift cars like BMW or nissan silvia use vauxhall corsa pump/res unit instead of thayr stock systems...is really compact and light tha torque sensor light up in a fraction of second,and we usually add a device to cut off the power when not needed (like on straight and sitting on traffic)....that will save weight,and some power and space on the engine....no more long pipes and cooler

electric steering is tunable, the ones you have driven were tuned to feel like that... done right it can 'feel' superior to what we have now.... requires programming though and I'm not sure the ecu's for them are that mappable yet????I have a Honda s2000 like daily car that have a full electric steering rack...and is acknowledged by many like one of best power steering ...the s2000 have a noble "similar" front geometry and the rack is made for a heavier and front engined car that MAYBE can allow the system to drive the noble steering...the feedback on the s2000 is great and better than the noble's ....said this there's not better way than try it ....and in case of problem going back to the second option...the s2000 EPS ecu is really simple just a voltage regulator and a torque sensor ...is easy to tune if necessary.

...and doesnt need the rad the km of pipes we have running on the tunnel with 100°oil inside ...plus the mecanical pump is linked to the engine like the water pump...that mean that in best of cases rech the best curve at 4000/5000 rpm ...above that the curve fall down and the power absorption increases exponentially,like the fluid temps!!
anyway is not a supernecessary mod...but may help ...like 100 others little stuff that can improve the driving experience.

I've been looking into rust protection as currently doing up the old Skyline.I was thinking to put some rust protection in the frame...any suggestion?
Classics Monthly did a 3 year year test on both cavity and external rust protection.
For inside cavities, chassis etc, I think I'll be using Noxudol 700:
Cavity rust protectors
For external/exposed rust protection, there appear to be a few good products:
External rust protection

I have fitted a Corsa column to my Ultima I upgraded the ECU and have a decent amount of control available, however I really got it for parking(my garage entrance needs about an eight point turn to get in to). For normal use I can switch it right off.I have been told I can have an infinitely mappable ECU but it is ££££'s.

I put the same pump on my Noble and have a suggestion: Add a circuit to detect pump power interruption (usually a blown fuse) and illuminate a warning light. Water temp will shoot way beyond 100 C very soon after the pump loses power. Cloud of steam ensues.The circuit is very simple, just a handful of parts that can be built on a small piece of perf board (sorry, not sure what it's called in UK):

Wow !! nice review ....looks like the Korrosions-Schutzfett or Noxudol 700 are the prod. to go for
...the wax is a rust protector....but if something is already rusty?? ...may be useful put a rust converter before?

Fitting an electric steering column in the Nob is a bit hard,the space under the steering wheel is small....I think that the electric pump is the easyest and cheapest solution (you can reduce pressure or pump voltage to adapt to your feel)I have been told I can have an infinitely mappable ECU but it is ££££'s.

,anyway If I have time enough I want to try the full electric s2000 steering (wich I remember is just a steering box with all the system included)

The steering without assistence is hard to move on the Nob...is not like Lotus one....draining the fluid and go with no power assist or assisted column is not recommended because the hidraulic system may
seize up without oil ,witch is not good !!
