I have the Pro Alloy header tank and the Stant racing cap on at the minute. Does anyone know if the cap is meant to bleed pressure out of the cap itself or if it bleeds the pressure out of the overflow in the top of the Pro Alloy tank?

I am getting some coolant coming out the overflow after a run. Have I overfilled the system? Where does everyone fill to in the Pro Alloy tank?

Cheers

I fill mine to the middle of the window. But it doesn't seem to stay there, sometimes its above the line, sometimes its below, sometimes its bang on.

I just put it down to the volume of coolant changing with temperature, but it does annoy me.

sounds like overfilling. When cold, i go up to half on the glass

yeah around/just below the glass sight is normal for me.

I just replaced my cap as I was concerned it was getting weak but turns out to just be a leaking hose.

Also bought a spare, so now have 2 backup standt caps.

Do you want 2 spares?

I haven't brought one yet for my new tank so I'll help you empty your spares box if you want to.

Does anyone else have this fluctuating level symptom that my car seems to exhibit? Not losing fluid, the level just seems to refuse to stay in the same place.

Would a stronger anti freeze mix stabilse it?

Sorry Captain, I need as many spares as possible for this race season, and my spares boxes now pretty much fill a Q7 with the back seats down and I still have a massive box of bits sat at Jetstream lol

Street dragster, it's normal, air bubbles in the system (prob turbos boiling coolant) when the car is turned off cause the level to fluctuate. Don't worry

its not the cap that is the problem, it the stupid useless noble design, dumping hot water into the turbo's and then piping steam/water/air bubbles back into the header tank. my car gets away with it on the road but on track i have to use a catchtank.

Out of interest how big is the pro-alloy header tank roughly?

2 litre capacity but unfortunately it needs half of that just for expansion.
