I had a similar issue, running really rich, lumpy idle, smoke, misfire etc.Tried all the usual suspects plugs, lambdas, coil packs before giving up and sending it to Jetstream who managed to find the fault, turned out the cam timing on rear bank had jumped 3 teeth!!!
Don't have a clue how that happened but its fixed now so I'm happy!

Ah, I see. I don't believe anything in that connector can affect the ECU to make the engine run rough. It's just a comms protocol over two serial lines. Can't see it magically making the correct serial signal to alter maps etc.Suggest you try and reset the adaptive maps first. That may help.
