Seriously though, I don't think there's room for the glass to fall that low with the stock mechanism.

It would be cool if the roof panel could be made removable like the TVR Chimaera.

The roll cage would be exposed but it could live with that.

not all the way but pretty close (around 10-15mm away)... and mine are electric, and slightly lighter mechanism than stock.

Whole heap of work and development though as I made the mechanism and glass holders etc... Its probably a weeks work!

one day in the future this is a distinct possibility on my car... I have my old tub that i could sacrifice to make moulds of return mounting edges etc..

If someone wanted to take the plunge I could provide them a carbon V weave roof panel for a fee as Id like to see it done

I always wondered what they did with the GTC to keep the roll stiffness without the top part of the cage, but I guess that was the main reason it never went into production.
