Forgot how good they look from the outside. Anyone on here own the car with M400 NOB on the number plate?

What were you doing going into Henley without offering me a drive?

I seem to remember he was saying he had that number plate some time ago.

Evening Goodlife

Joust is quite right it was my car.

The reason I can't say it was actually me, and what makes your spot all the more amusing, is that I was staying away with work at the time. I had expected the Noble to be tucked away at home, however my flat mates interpretation of using the car to nip out if he ever got stuck obviously involved a trip to Henley. Busted!

Thank you for your spot, I did so enjoy putting the question, "Been in Henley recently?" to the offending party.

Am just about to part with the GTO3 to make way for something to fit the plate.

Take Care

You'll love it! I've just racked up the 1000 miles so I decided to do a half-3/4 throttle 40mph to 80mph in 5th when coming out of the M25 roadworks at J11.

OH MY GOD!

I think I am going to scare myself whitless when I've put another 500 or so miles on it and feel confident enough to actually floor it in 4th, never mind 3rd or 2nd......

Dan,

Drop me an email, and I'll pop over one of the weekends and see if we can't get you back in to the Noble way of thinking!

The M400's got 5000 miles on it now, so it really is run in.

Scott.

J,

It always impressed me when dyno-ing the development M400 (Lee's car) that it had as much power only just on boost as the 2.5s did flat out. They breeze past the 3Rs at just over 3/4 throttle. Now you can understand how Lee's car was so quick at Rockingham that time. And you know that Lee never stands still.

Come on, give it some gas..........

Usual disclaimers apply to anything I say causing points on licence etc...

Oh really, they "breeze past" eh, OK I'm up for a friendly test against an M400 at the next Noble day then - any takers?! :-)

I'm a bit confused (It happens quite often!) about the M400's 401bhp/tonne.

A tonne is metric ton, ie 1000kg. At 1160kg the M400 is 1.16 tonnes.

With a max. power of 425bhp 425/1.16 = 366.4bhp/tonne ???

Can someone tell me where I'm going wrong in the calculation?

Simple, in the weight of the M400. Target weight, minus A/C and stereo was 1060kg! Where did you get the 1.16tonnes?

I'm at J12 + 6 mins into town (or 4 in the M12!) if anyone's blasting around here!

I know! I never really got "into" Lee's car as I was so scared of throwing the thing off, but boy it's an astonishing car.

Now now, I've only just put 1000 miles on it, so I'm going for a trip up to the factory this afternoon to get another 300-400 on it, and then I'll start to give it some welly. I've got a day at Bedford tomorrow where I'll start to find out it's legs, although as it'll only done 1500 miles by then I'll be more playing with the handling than the power (or is it really OK to start to give it full beans after 1500 miles - I was thinking of waiting until around 2000?)

My guess is that it'll be the same as a 2.5 to a 3.

I was astonished how easily a 3 pulls away from my upgraded 2.5 at the last VMAX. Given the torque and power difference is much larger between a 3R and an M400, I'd imagine it'd be much more noticable.

I think that's a typo.

The PH article says that it's 20kgs lighter, and the Noble site says it's 1080kg for a 3R, so I think they've put an extra 1 in there by mistake.

The printed M400 spec sheet I have says 1060kgs on it.
