A Few Tweaks ........... :driving:
Discussion
As mentioned last week, here are a few tweaks just finding themselves on my car......... I like them immensely but have more on the way, so stay tuned ....
New rear Diffuser, custom made all in CF of course. Really finishes off the rear of the car much better with a GT look IMHO.

And here are some engine bay mods done which are on going. They are not finished, so the finish level (visible) is not top notch, but we are working out the bugs, then will dress it up.
Things included ? rear intercooler fan, A.K.A. M400 style, fan probe and fan thrmostat details, (BOV) blow off valve initial trial install, and the modifciation to the front turbo air intake filter to see how that helps, if any. Trying to reduce internal air flow losses to long tubing runs, etc ....
Take a look.

Did you move the filters to the side intakes ? only on the 3R's here I belive they're in the intercooler bay.
That's a built option with UK ones. I think El Jenkins had his there.
I speced mine with the filters to be placed as the classic, but when the car was delivered they were in the standard position

One of the few 3l with them there. Love the noise!gotapex said:
Wow, pretty nice! Did a local shop fabricate those things, or HPH?
These parts were made by another US Installer, and no it was not HPH. They were all done at my request, and now perhaps might be available for other people too.

Very interesting (although piccies 3, 6 & 7 don't seem to load for me).
Not 100% sure about the diffuser, probably need to see it in the flesh, but the rest all look pretty sensible.
Keep us updated please!

J, as far as pics not loading, maybe it is your dial up your using..........
and yes the diffuser is better in the flesh. It really does make a big difference to me how the car looks from the rear. DanH said:
Nice work. Do the metal plates on the intakes work? I do wonder if they wouldn't impede airflow into the engine bay a bit and perhaps end up counterproductive?
Anyway look forward to knowing what results you get.
Dan, I don't think they do impead the air flow too much. This is also why we did not make them bigger, but just enough to block some back side engine bay heat. Further as with all the US 3R's to my knowledge, the door side intake pockets all are feeding air to the front of the engine bay via plumbed tubes, so the air still gets to the front turbo / front engine bay from those as well. And correct, there is much more noise audible in the drivers cabin, even just from this one filter up there on the drivers side for the front turbo. But as you say, sounds good to me. Very interesting to hear how the engine is breathing ......
Another item on the plate, is a "slight" rear intercooler intake "lip" to help get more air into the intercooler intake area. Currently there is almost no air naturally going down into there ( hence the fan ) and so a very small lip actually improves this dramatically as other people have already proved out. Just a matter of fabrication and keeping it asthetic / tasteful.
And as the Brits love to say ........ Cheers !

I was definately trying to copy KUG, it sounds lovely, but I have been glad of the quieter set-up at times...like the 8 hour blast from Santander to Malaga.
I have a soft spot for that car...the first (and only) car I have ever done a 720 degree spin in!
