I've just contacted a UK company for a quote on those HRE 540R wheels that our US friend has. Anyone want to place bets as to what it comes in at?

For reference he paid about 4000USD for them, which was with about 1500USD discount. I'm guessing they will say 3500GBP.

They are a tad shiney for the UK climate, so just trying to get a figure for a wheel I know the cost of in the US.

I believe they're available in:

• high polish
• custom paint
• brushed/clearcoat
• charcoal paint
• anodized black
• silver paint

You wouldn't necessarily need to get high polish.

I'm guessing the painted finishes are easiest to repair?

Yeah, I would guess that to be the case as well.

They are called LuxuryWheels. Not 100% I want HREs anyway, just want to get a ballpark figure in the UK. The Japanese made wheels on the other thread look pretty good, and another noble owner is recommending Fiske wheels.

Well the quote has arrived. Its a bit eek.

--------------
Standard Silver Centre with Polished Lip.
18x8.5" front = £745.70 each + VAT
18x10" Rear = £777.64 each + VAT

High Polish is £70.00 per wheel + VAT (as seen on website)
All the above include clearcoat where applicable, bolts, locks a choice of
HRE centre cap. And Delivery within the UK to you.
As they take 4 weeks to build, we estimate a delivery time of 6-8 weeks.
--------------

HRE are meant to be very good wheels though, and its still cheaper than the OEM GTO3 wheels I think! Might be cheaper importing direct from the US though. I think they are about 4k USD, but you'd have to add shipping + duty. That price above adds up to just under 3.6k in GBP.

One of the US guys has also recommended Fikse wheels which might be better suited to our needs as they make race wheels for Porkers etc. Only problem is filling in their incredibly complicated data sheet to get a quote.

I've had Fiske wheels on a Porsche and they are nice wheels. The other one to try would be Cargraphic as both they and Fiske do a wheel which is similar to the 3R wheel from memory.

I had a set from Stuttgart Connection. Very nice wheels and not too frightening I seem to remember. Anyone have a look at www.stuttgart.co.uk.

You can have them painted to match your car...which in my case is gonna be expensive
