On 3R's that don't, there is not one.
Sorry Jaz that's rubbish. I've got a trackday sump with no guage on my 3R.
Way's to check
well, it's a lot bigger and sometimes has bits of the floor under it cut away. It takes over double the oil of a standard one so may be a service record? 8.5L from memory. The factory will probably have records anyway.
Regards
Phil
Hi Phil,
You are right. When I picked my 3R up in June, the dealer was confused as the invoice said a track day sump had been fitted but there was no gauge on the dash. There was no sump.
I did ask and as far as I remember, I was told that all track sump cars should have a gauge?

I'm not even sure the gauge was an official option, but I might be wrong. My car was a production line / no customer one. Noble build a few to sell to impulsive people like me! I think all 3R's from around my build time had trackday sumps if there was no customer speccing things.
Bit of a thread hijack... I notice you profile pic has snow in it. Have you tried the Noble in the snow? I'm wondering if it's possible to get anywhere in it. I had a 300ZX TT once and that was impossible in anything more than slush.
Thanks
Phil
Jaz, Hope good news on car front?
Phil, we had some snow here (Glasgow) this week and Noble was better than my previous Elise - more weight over rear tyres? But doubt if it would work well on packed/frozen snow. The fact that you have to be easy with the right foot in any conditions probably helps - being practice for delicate throttle control!

I specced my 3R with sump & guage, but when I picked it up...no guage! I was pretty pissed off but when the dealer asked if I wanted it retro fitted @ about£800 I nearly blew a fuse.
Stuert Jones...be prepared to have your balls chewed off at Rockingham!
Martin.
On the plus side, the new cars with the gauge have a different trim panel with the gauge actually in the metal bit with the other dials/buttons rather than down by your knees. I'd be wanting that new panel if I were you

Dan,
While I hate copying (especially colours
) I think Nathans set up is the dogs dangly bits. Gonna check it out at Rockingham then make the decicion about what to do. Martin.

Thats true, and I imagine it would be priced competitively with what your dealer offered.
