Hi All. I'm new here but have been keeping an eye on goings on. I am now pretty near buying a car but a couple of things bother me.
When the front a back are opened up the first thing that I notice is pleanty of rusty nuts & bolts. At the back the driveshafts & cv joints are very rotten even on a 1000 mile dealer demo car that I drove last week! Has anyone sorted this out somehow? Are there just localised areas that rust very quickly or do you end up with a real mess afer say 20,000 miles?
Also the bolts holding the suspension on to the chassis are way too long and just look bad. Once again has anyone sorted out an alternative (stainless)?
The car i'm considering was advertised on PH last week - the Diamond Black 3R with no picture attached. Does anyone have anything to tell me about the car?????
Thanks

Nigel, I can only comment on the fact that the components do take on rust (mine has 5000 miles on it) but that it is just cosmetic (in my case at least).
If it were me, and I had my heart on it, I'd get the owner to present the car at a mutually agreed Noble dealer/workshop and I'd pay for a 1-2 hour inspection with written report - if all OK then hand over the akkers and drive away with a big grin - if not then renegotiate or get the bus home!
