I would have thought not, but a guy I know locally is selling his 3R after only six months of ownership. Now I would have thought winter was hardly the time to be driving a Noble so that may have something to do with it. Having ridden powerful bikes in the wet, it's more of a responsibility than an outright joy. Now when the grip comes back, it's a different matter.

Being on the verge of taking the plunge, I don't want to buy something I'm going to get bored with.

Any of you lot get bored with yours?

I think you will find there are many compromising issues before boredom. Financial issues would be somewhere near the top, as would practicality.

Perhaps this chap has a family on the way, but fancied having a bit of fun before having to buy a more sensible car, and given the residual values, he didn't stand to lose too much. And besides, I don’t think Noble do a baby seat.

Also, if you are doing a lot of mileage in a year then again, it’s a costly car to run. Servicing is very reasonable given the car, but if you are doing 20,000 miles per year then it will add up to a large amount, as will the fuel bill.

Basically there are 101 reasons why someone could sell after only 6 months of ownership, but I think you will find that “boredom” will not be anywhere in positions 1 to 100.

I have a company fuel card that lets me do personal miles too

The guy said he was bored with it, but he lives in the fens of East Anglia and the roads around his particular town are pants with poor surfacing and few good challenges.

I wouldn't have thought he would even have had an opportunity to really play with it yet.

What's wrong with the fens? I live there and there are some blinding roads around here, provding you keep an eye out for tractors and the dykes!

As for getting bored of the car, never!

What, not challenging enough for him? Hhhmm.

Got to be another reason unless he just likes dragsters.

Personally, I've never found 'women in comfortable shoes' get in the way of a good days thrash in the fens

I guess you could find driving it on the road boring if you do a decent amount of track work. I think thats why my mate sold me his. Coming from an Elise though, I like it on the road as I can overtake!

6 months is too quick to get bored of it I think though. Maybe he just didn't click with it. Is he a good driver?

p.s. hurry up mate. You were deliberating back when I was!

Patience is a virtue

And how could you possibly expect me to comment on another mans driving... That's almost akin to saying he's got an ugly bird if I say anything other than yes

Blairout, If you could deliberate for about another 4-6 months then I will be joining you in the purchase of a Noble. We could reduce the boredom by racking up a few miles in convoy aroung those fen roads. Personally I like the road from Somersham to Ramsey, some great bends and very few dykes (in high heels)

I am finding this time the toughest yet as I have sold my Elise and have enough cash for a host of great cars but not enough for a 3R. I am struggling to wait, but would be amazed if I get bored with it for at least 2 years + once I get one.

Well its not like he'll find out unless he reads the forum?

Of course your reticence about answering gave the answer away anyway!

I think the car appeals on a lot of levels though. The only real downer is when you just want to go out to the shops without brushing your hair in some tatty clothes. You regularly get photographed. Also I always feel uneasy going past police cars because my front plate got knocked off at the start of the journey officer.

Obviously the car also deserves a lot of respect. It is very forgiving when it steps out (way kinder than the Elise), but you have more rope to hang yourself with 350bhp

Perhaps the bloke really wants a BMW....

Everyone in this world is different, although I doubt if I had to list the 1000 words to describe a Noble I'd ever get "boring" in there...

Somersham to Ramsey is nice, but you could never do the Pondersbridge bit in a Noble, you'd beach it

Having lined up one to look at next weekend I was just a bit shocked to hear what the guy said. The roads where he lives aren't condusive to a performance car, I even get bored in the Boxster so I think that may have something to do with it. I've never actually met the guy so I can't comment on his driving.

I'm relieved to hear boredom isn't an issue

Dare I mention speed humps

Owned my 3R from new for 6 months and 6000 miles.

Not at all bored with it even in these damp conditions.

Got bored of my M3 (3 months), RX-8 (4 months) and fed up of 3 TVR's within minutes !

The Noble just gets better every day.

Don't think I'll ever get bored with the glow of contentment I get just thinking about the thing. Just washing it puts a smile on my face!

it's all relative. Bought my M400 in the knowledge that it's going next year when we have kids. i keep seeming to buy my ideal car (EVO6, Bike engined westie, Escort Cossie) and then see something that I think (not necessarily is) better. When the M400 goes, I'll probably build an Ultima, or buy a racing Kart. No mater what you drive, you will always desire something else, even if it's an Enzo or Macca F1. What you really need if you can afford it, is to join one of teyh exclusive clubs and have the use of all your dream cars.

Until I can afford that (never..), I'm more than happy with my M400.
