Just dashing off to buy a Noble and the thought crossed my mind about the extended warranty. The car I am buying is a 9 mth old 3R and it has 3 months of manufacturers warranty left. I have done a deal with an extra 3 months of full warranty which I think is mandatory for a dealer and then an additional 12 mth mechanical and electrical warranty on top for peace of mind.

Is this good/normal??

Would it be possible to extend the manufacturers warranty, or get a longer one somehow?

Thanks in advance for your help guys.

Not an expert but I would have been looking for 12 months cover off the dealer if I was buying a used Noble so it sounds OK to me.

Wouldn't matter if you were offered 24 months of warranty, if when you come to use it, it fails to perform. Remember you will invariably be dealing with an insurance company and the key features of any claim are "mechanical breakdown" and "general wear and tear".

Most insurance underwritten dealer warranties have a comprehensive list of components covered, so I'd spend my time scrutinising:-

General Terms and Conditions
Claim limit
Mileage constraint
No of claims allowed during the term
Parts, labour and VAT included?
Can you nominate the garage or are you constrained by the underwriters selection?

Also do searches on these forums once you know who is the underwriter.

Hi,

There is a seperate thread that deals with warranty. The factory only offer 12 months so you have to use a third party for any extensions.

Mine runs out next month and I need to extend too. If you are buying from a reputable dealer and the warranty they offer looks good I wouldn't get too stressed about it.

I just had a balljoint on mine which was £34. Even in the worst circumstances the costs aren't enormous........relative to Porsche, Ferrari and Lamborghini that is.

As has already been said, just read the small print.

Great car though, you won't be dissapointed!!!!

Paul, why £34 when your car is under warranty?!

I am posting this thread from Kerridges pc!! Waiting to take her out for a 1st spin. Gutted its raining though!

Thanks for the help chaps, I was just reading the Noble handbook and it states the 12mth warranty which "can be extended". I guess that means by a 3rd party then??

Next time I post, I should be an owner too!!

Give my regards to Steve et al. I'm not going back up there for a bit because I'll only end up with an M400 if I do

Rob,

Ball joints aren't covered apparently. I had a 6k service for £595 and a front end respray for £400.

Just gotta find the time to get up there and pick it up. Looking forward to seeing it though!
