What are the odds?...
Adrian Blyth Specialist Cars were somewhat bemused when they were approached by a potential customer interested in purchasing a Noble, who also wished to transfer the number plate from his Audi.
So where's the bemusement, I hear you ask?
Well what are the odds of a Mr Noble purchasing a Noble and transferring registration number N8 BLE!
I suggest there are some already very noteworthy plates on PHer Nobles, but this unique combination surely trumps them all?

I asked Stu if he regretted parting with the noble after being left for dust coming off that roundabout
Apparently he could stick to the Murci for longer than you! 
That's true, I couldn't catch the Gallardo, let alone the Murci !! Mind you when Stu gave chase to the Murci he didn't realise they were going in the wrong direction !! Doh ! Stu made it back, but we didn't see the Lambo again
Stu can't have any regrets, his 355 is stunning and it sounds even better! The scream was glorious as it came past. Once it hit it's sweet spot he was gone like the wind !
Unfortunately you don't see the cerbera come flying past us both a few seconds later ! now he was really moving !!!

I think there are always some regrets when you change cars, especially when the car is as special as the M12.
The main thing you miss is the torque! In that vid i was probbaly pootling along in 4th. If you nail it in 4th at 3000rpm you'd have a job overtaking a vespa
However the thing i came to appreciate most of all, was just how fantastic the damping of the Noble is. The M12 would glide over those roads, giving constant feedback, in the 355 it felt like my fillings were going to drop out on the poor surfaces! It was great following Obes and the other Nobles and being able to marvel at the way they hunker down to the road. The turbo whistle is also much more pronounced than i ever realised from the drivers seat.
Oh, for a car with the handling, damping and low end grunt of the Noble, with the soundtrack, looks and top-end of the 355

Yeah I love how nobles hunker down when you gun it. You have to be behind to appreciate it, but they just sit down on their suspension a bit and disappear into the horizon. An awesome spectacle. I remember seeing it from the wheel of my Elise as Andy went from in front of me to a spec in a few short seconds.
Making them sound great is always going to be hard with forced induction, it takes away most of the engine note. Be great if an exhaust manufacturer who has some regard for engine note would make a backbox solution though. Sadly that probably rules out Janspeed! Larini or Tubi would be good. I actually had a really nice exhaust made by some low volume place on my Elise. It had two small silencers on each exhaust pipe rather than sharing one big one (as per the Noble setup) and it sounded pretty good for a 4 pot. Its never gonna have a ferrari wail though, thats largely due to the flat plane crank and high rev limit.
Thats a realy coincidence for me too then. As I also bought an azure GTO (3R) on Saturday, at Kerridges, my name is Greg Noble and I will be putting my private plate on it too. ( I tried to buy that exact one in the pic actually) To top it off I have just started to work for a company called Noble House Upholstery which is also a coincidence.
I would have bought a Noble even if the boss happened to be called Lee Tetley.

I prefer not to personally. I'm a bit picky though and think they probably need to cost >150k to qualify for that title. Its all a bit silly though given mags now use the term hypercar!

The question as to "what is a supercar?" needs a mutli-page theread of its own! A search for a definition on Google returns an overdose of previous global discussion on the subject but also that there is no definition at all! One article said that Lambo invented the term in the 60s.
Me, I describe my Noble to the uninitiated as a "road-going racing car" (or should that be a "racing-car for the road" - you (and they) get my point, I'm sure! :-)

.... we had another Mr Noble in the folowing day who purchased...... a TVR. Mr Noble-Noble has taken delivery and is booked for the Noble day at Rockingham.
