Anybody got wind
Discussion
You'll get plenty of wind noise when the air blower is on; from what I recall it alters cabin pressure sufficiently to impact the window seals... or I might be talking complete bollox. Anyway, it's much quieter if the blower is off - but there is still wind noise above 80 mph... it's not a terribly slippery design.

I was playing on the M20 on the way back on Saturday and noticed a very interesting effect....
If you either turn the blower off, or turn it to recirc, then the noise at 80-100 drops. I presume it's the air exiting the vents at the back of the car and getting sucked into the slipstream going over the car?
Try it - you'll be amazed! Given re-circ for me never really is fully recirc, and it should be left on recirc when you are using the aircon, I think I've stumbled upon something.
The M400 has spookily low levels of noise if you turn the blower fans off - it was so quiet at 80-90 (on the airfield just off the M20 of course) that Nick fell asleep in the car, and it was only 5:00pm!

Justin,
This has been a known phenomenon for some time - the dynamic air pressure through the heater assy when on fresh air is enough, when combined with the change in air pressure outside the side windows at your testing speeds, to bleed air past the window seals and hence cause a whistle. Turning the air off or to recirc stops this.

That's wind noise. Got it from both sides. Is it to be expected. I notice I could press door tighter to the seal but this effects the shut lines. My shut lines seem perfect. I suppose I could fit thicker door seal.
Any ideas
That be me on the way home, all those curries at Paprika
