This weekend I was forced to use standard unleaded for the first time due to availability, but have noticed no discernible difference in performance. Can anyone tell me, am I in danger of causing damage if I continue to use standard unleaded as opposed to super, or is this an elaborate ruse?

Cheers

No damage my friend. I use optimax but more out of habit, since that was originally recommend by MV & the factory. But now the factory has told us that standard fuel is more than fine to feed our babies.

Yep, as mentioned regular unleaded is recommended by the factory!

Although remember that Optimax also has a load of detergents that aren't in the "normal" fuel.

For 6p or so a litre difference, I've always thought it "worth" the little extra when it's a £60,000 car in the first place!
