My alarm went off yesterday, whilst I wasn't there. Anyway now when I set it, I get 3 flashes followed by a pause and it stays like that. I'm pretty sure it just flash on and off alternately when its working right, so anyone know what the 3 flash code means, and how to reset it?

Non-coincidently I think it went off when some nob parked his nazi staff car (Merc) way too close so that he'd inevitably have banged the M12 opening its door.

The alarm should do 3 flashes, pause, 3 flashes, pause etc etc. That is normal. IIRC I have the auto watch on a 3R. Have not heard it yet though.

I have looked at the instructions and it seems you can altar things but its quite complecated.

My alarm does not make a sound when you arm it.

Does anyone elses.

It seems you can go into the setup procedure and turn the beep feature on and off. Has anyone done this? It is easy?

Changing things is easy - just follow the instructions!

I've got no beep on the M400 and had beep on the 2.5l, not sure which one I prefer.

I changed from silent to beeping, as a couple of times I accidentaly turned the alarm off just by putting the keys in my pocket as I walked away, only to find out when I returned.

Martin.

PS - edited to add:- mine beeps twice on opening and once on closing.

Mine beeps as yours...and your experience when putting fobs in pockets is one I have replicated...with the added worry that it works the central locking...so the car is not just without an alarm but completely unlocked as well...I now make a point of testing the door before walking away!

what? auto locks as well, or just the alarm?

I must check mine does this as that sounds entirely useful

Oh great ... I'd better keep up the habit of hanging onto the keys then.

No - auto*arms*.

It explicitly says in the manual that it doesn't lock the doors so that you don't have a problem with the keys!

Does the alarm have special flash signals if it goes off that indicate what the cause was. Apparently my car is going off again today in the garage. Just got a call from the porter =/

Mine rearms after 30 seconds, and not just if I don't open the doors. If I get in and don't turn on the ignition it also rearms the immobiliser.

Can't you get your porter/butler to sort it out for you?

[rant mode on - sorry Matey!]
No - it rearms, as I said, twice now!

If the immobiliser goes on the alarm is NOT armed, it is merely doing it's immobiliser

So, stop the car, take keys out, get out, walk away, don't lock it, wait 2+ mins, come back, open door...

WOUWOUWOUWOUWOUWOUWOUWOUWOUWOU, FLASHFLASHFLASH

It *ARMS*. It waits for silly people, and then it SHOOTS you.

It tells you this IN THE MANUAL. Yes, that thing YOU ARE MEANT TO READ
[rant off]

Nice weather we are having. Not quite, as I said, it rearms itself in 2 mins.

I have just set mine to beep when I arm/dissarm it. Sounds really good, like R2D2.

It is pretty easy to do, you can also set the doors to lock when you turn on the engine and unlock when you turn it off again. Handy......? For what...???

Maybe if you live in Brixton!

I have an Auto watch owners manual, install certificate and an A$ instruction sheet.

Dan, mail me your fax number off line and I will send it over to you.

Although the text is very small.
