Noble Reliability.........???
Discussion
Hi Guys,
I am thinking of buying a Noble this summer. I would probably drive it everyday.
Wanted to ask you guys, how reliable are they, do they break down, not start, etc etc...
Was looking to get a GTO 3R.
I am driving a Mod'd BMW, 330ci Supercharged, at the moment. All my freinds are telling go for a CSL. But want some totally different. CSL going to have better handling and same power, and less torque. At least with the Noble, I have the looks, and the performance, but would really like to know if I have the reliablility?

Hi,
Great idea to get a 3R. Much better than a BMW. We use ours everyday. Now done 15,000 miles and just 15 months old. No reliability problems, just couple niggling faults e.g. headlamp cover misting up!
Treated reasonabley and you will get 25 m.p.g. Service costs fair and tyres required at the rear 7 to 10,000 miles with fronts lasting twice as long.
The main problem with Nobles is cambers in road, some speed bumps and multi storey car parks are often a no go area!

Ooh decisions decisions.
I was so close to buying a CSL before I bought the Noble. In hindsight I'm glad I bought the Noble.
That's not to say that the CSL is any lesser car, I think they are fantastic, but if I had bought one I would have always hankered after the Noble.
Of the two the CSL is probably the car you would buy with your head, long warranty, BMW build quality etc etc.
That said, it is just another 3 series really (sorry Nathan)and if you want something a little more exclusive, with a little more performance, buy the Noble. It is the epitomy of the great British sports car! You get to join a great club of people too (albeit some are colour blind)!
As to reliability, perhaps the CSL might have a slight edge there, luck of the draw to be honest. I have had a few minor problems on my Noble, no more or less than on my X5.
It has never not started or broken down, goes like the wind and IMHO looks sensational.
I'd kick myself if I hadn't bought the Noble, and anyway I can always have a go in Nathan's CSL....ok probably not now then!

I have never had any problems in the Noble, but I have only had it for 7 days. Howvere those 7 days have been some of the best in my life. I even too 2 days holiday this week just so I could drive her some more.
The car is sensational. I have been in a CSL and think they are great cars too. There may be a little of that BMW safety with reliability, but I would not like to say that running costs on a 3R would be any greater over a year or 2.
If you had to have 1 car for it would be a tough call for me a week ago.
Now it would be easy, get the Noble, you won't look back, except when passing CSL's.

Hi Durgesh,
It would appear that everybody wanting to buy one asks this same question (I did !) and then goes out and buys one
I've had an M3, TVRs, RX-8 and some others but to be honest the Noble makes them all ordinary in comparison.
I've had mine for around 7 months and 6000 miles. It's never broke down and left me at the side of the road like my TVRs did. It starts first time everytime and after a few minutes of warming it up you can have the time of your life!
Servicing isn't as cheap as the BMWs but its not too bad.
Niggles have been minor which the dealer has sorted quickly and professionally. I've even had a replacement windscreen after a crack from a stone - this was done by Autoglass. They did damage the dashboard but admitted to it and repaired it.
I'm not sure if you've noticed but Noble Factory guys talk on this forum and are always happy to answer any questions - how good is that !
Go get a blue one

Matt,
You are obviously a man of great taste, therefor you deserve a treat. Much turquoiseness here...

Ouch, my eyes hurt!
Thanks to all of you for your time in answering my questions.
I am going for a Test drive soon, in a M400, however its a 3R in Blue that I really have my heart set on.
Have a load of work to do, to finish off my BM for a up coming show and mag feature. However hopefully I can sell her in the summer, and go for the Noble.

If anyone is interest.
Thanks again.

PS if anyone else has more input please add, the more the better.
