Hit a speed bump earlier that was bigger than it looked. One hell of a whack/crunch/smash noise. Very suprised that I did not damage the clam but I have cracked the splitter quite badly.

Looks pretty easy to swop it over, but does anyone know roughly how much a new one might cost?

They need painting =/

Don't think its as much as 175+vat for the basic splitter though.

£175.00, thats what it cost me.

I was hit by a delaminated truck tyre, ouch, also damaged the clam. Cost me about 1k, only had her 3 weeks.

I had mine replaced at Kerridges and it was about £180.

It doesn't need painting. Its just the fitting that takes a little time.

I had mine replaced once. Costs are as others have indicated. If I am clumsy enough to break it again, I have taken the decision to remove but not replace it. having looked around the car park at Rockingham, I see that removal is becoming more and more common.

Must say I think it looks better on. Bit like underware on an ugly bird!!

I assume its also a protector for the clam. If you hit it really hard will it break off before it damages the clam?

I looked at the damage again today and its not as bad as it looked when I thought a splitter was only £50! Think it will be fine for a few more knocks.

usually it does not protect the clam as it will pull on that and damage it anyway. But if it was not on there in the first place you may have missed it. Thats one way off looking at it. Although I do prefer it on also.
