Can anyone tell me what turbo's fitted to new M400's outside South Africa. Should be Garret T28 according to Noble specs...but with or without roller bearings ?.
What is Noble standard ?

Non roller bearing I believe, although some US guys are fitting T28Rs which are the roller bearing model.

Anyone out there have a theory on benefits for using roller bearing turbo's. Are these Noble approved ?.

the guys who rebuilt the turbo on my Grp N Escort (Marem shafted Grp A T34)said that roller bearings aren't worth the extra cash, just regular oil changes and allow to cool to stop burning oil in the turbo.

Go here and have a dig. They have info on it I believe.

IIRC they can spool up a little quicker, I don't think its about turbo life - thats handled by the fact that the turbos are watercooled.

In a slightly perverse twist, the turbos in the US are often the T28Rs, but they don't appear to plumb the water cooling in. I really can't work that one out!

The Noble M400 uses generic Garrett T28 turbo casings, but there are about 40 different versions of what goes inside these. Our version is bespoke to Noble and is not replicated in any other application.
