Another quick question before I part with my cash for an M12: how do you guys (or, less likely, girls) find the bucket seats on long journeys? I'll be driving to Plymouth from London on occasion (500 mile round trip) and I've heard some numb stories from Top Gear etc.
Thanks

I am thinking about having a blow up lumbar fitted to the drivers seat like i HAD IN MY 111S ELISE. tHE SEATS AND GENERAL LONG DISTANCE DRIVING SUPRISED ME. aFTER THE ELISE i WAS AMAZED AT JUST HOW COMFORTABLE THE CAR IS.

Bloody caps lock......sorry.

You should soon get a post from V6 GTO telling you how he drives from Marbella to London in his "colourful" car and would be comfortable enough to turn around and go back!!

M400 seats are a little better but I have no problems.

I don't find mine that comfy but nothing I can't handle. Lumbar would definitely help as it has no support there. Keep meaning to get that added!

Pedals are also a bit offset. Not ideal, but again tolerable.

The 3R seats don't look at all comfortable - they appear to have minimal padding but they work fine!

Sounds like a lumbar support may be in order, then. The Honda s2000 I'm divorcing myself from had the best seats I've ever experienced for back support. Mind you, couple of bolts and a welding torch I could...no!
Thanks for the help.

Try it first.

It seems very 'person' orientated. People who have previously found other cars uncomfortable have found the M12 perfect, but some others haven't managed to get on at all with the standard seats.

I found on my M12 that for the first 6 months it was fine, even comfy, but by the end I didn't like the seats at all.... (I'm getting on a bit I assume...)

I have to say though the M400 seats are lovely and I'm very happy now (*smug*)

I never have any comfort issues with mine, even on long hauls. I guess the guy who designed the seats was the same size and shape as me !!

I have done 2800 miles in one week.

Picked car up Wed pm

1000 mile service Fri. Am

Unfortunately had to work Sat.

Sun. playing 1 hour at Bruntingthorpe to get used to car.

Mon. Am set of to Spa Belgium

Tue racing round Ring (best lap 8.39) but only had 5 laps in all

Wed Racing round Spa (best lap 2.48) but could probably do better if I wasn’t splaying silly buggers with everything else.

Was going to drive back to Warwick wed. evening but is was poring with rain so came back Thur, still raining.

Fri at work

Cleaning and servicing today

As for comfort, you get used to it, and with so many fill ups your bum gets to recover. At times I thought it was torture, but hey! No pain no gain right? Wrong I found that sitting on a FAT wallet and the stubby screwdriver doesn’t help. And if you have a fat arse you can always sit on a pillow to help lift your bum out of the seat.

Otherwise some quality ear-defenders with built in comm’s plus phone, stereo music, GPS and that all important radar detector makes it all very peaceful.

I think most of us don't think the m400 is uncomfortable. Its more the GTO3/R seats that don't have much padding so can be a bit hard if you don't fit them ideally.

Still it does need to be put in perspective. I've owned plenty of cars that were at least as uncomfortable, if not more so!

I don’t think it was too uncomfortable, not after I got used to it, but I had a CL55 & RS6 before and as my wife said, 2000 miles in a Noble, ANY Noble, is FAR more comfortable, warmer & dryer than 2000 miles on our GSXR1000

Surely 2000 miles with a wife is uncomfortable enough?

And I nearly forgot to mention another plus or two.

She does not like filling up at petrol stations so while I do that she cleans the screen, empties the rubbish out of the car and PAYS. Now beat THAT!

There’s plenty of other perks too.
