Used 3R - do i take the plunge?
Discussion
Hi Lee
A few of us on here have went from Tuscans to a Noble.
The comparison is huge. Reliability does not appear to the topic of discussion in this forum compared with the Tuscan Speed Six forum
You have certainly made a good choice and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Noble.
Good hunting.

So is the GTO-3R good value at £45k tops? Still seems a lot of money, and what goes wrong, are the factory helpful / supportive / able to get things done?
Lee, well you're off to a good start with that name!
There are hundreds of previous threads aligned to TVR owners (and others) coming over to Noble (Nobility, as we say!) so I'll let others comment and point you to these.
I will say however that you must ensure that your car has the following - a/c, 6-speed gearbox (comes standard with LSD) and a track-day sump (it doesn't matter if you don't intend to track the car - make sure it has one!).
Regarding £45k being good value for a used 3R - no, that's not a lot of money - £56K is a lot of money and that's what most of us, specced-from-new, Nobility will have paid for the car you'll be getting for £45K - and it'll be perfect 'cause we all love and cherish our Nobles!
Better get hunting in time for the summer!

People who've been here for a while may remember the 'mysterious' day of post editting....
Silvers nice too!!!
You seem to have your everyday cars sorted out, so on that basis a Noble really is a no-brainer.
I'm always a little concerned recommending to people as an only car. I know there are others who use it in just that way and are extremely happy, but it is a bit of a compromise IMO.
Fantastic second or third car though! What are you waiting for....Don't wrap it I'll take that nice Silver one

With 700+ cars produced you are bound to get an odd one or two that has issues, and remember that very few people post "mine's been great all this month, nothing else to report".
I had my fair share of problems, but both Mole Valley and the Factory swiftly and without drama sorted them out. Sure it was a pain at the time, but then I did buy car number 26 of the original M12s and I kindly did the "development driving" for all you lucky people nowdays
My old 2.5 is still running strong, and has had nothing wrong with it for over a year before I changed it for an M400.
Problems with the 3R are rare it seems, and if you do the checks that you should do with a 40k + car you should be fine.
Go on, you know you want to.

From what I have seen I would tend to agree with this, but I would suggest you keep away from a certain dealer in Northwich Cheshire; this is just in my opinion.
I am currently compiling a website to inform other people of my dealings. PM if you want more info.

Are you talking to the factory? I'm a little concerned that you may be burning all your bridges.

Factory tried their best on my behalf but no joy.
My gripe is not with the factory, its with the dealer.
