Can someone tell me what is involved in a full M12 service. I do not have a problem paying, but would like to know what I am paying for. I belive it is circa £600 +VAT. This is a recommended guide from Noble for all service centres.
Also how long does the service take ?

Thanks

Andy,
It would be a lot quicker to tell you what they don't do! They even check the tracking/alignment. It takes one man 3/4 of a day. Factory charge is £595+daylight robbery.(VAT)

I have just booked mine in for its 6k service and a few other bits and they want it from Thursday morning untill Saturday lunchtime, just to "Give themselves enough time" !!

I have heard folk saying that it drives like a different car afterwards.

Now that would be amazing!!

Thats good news.
I am in Wokingham, Berkshire. So the obvious place to take it is Mole Valley. Does anyone have any good/bad reports from there.
Failing that, where do the factory do their serviceing from ?
Cheers.

I've used Mole for 3 years and found them excellent. Warren has been servicing M12's since the very first cars, and they always give the car a lovely clean when they give it back to me.

Upgrades and various other stuff are always done, and Warren seems to know the "quick" ways to do things - when my fans failed on the M12 it took them 40 minutes to get the whole system out, take the stone out that was stopping it working, and put it back in. If you look at it I couldn't work out where to start, never mind get it in and out in 40 mins.

The quality of the work is high, but you do pay "London" labour rates, but compared to the local BMW place they are £15 an hour cheaper so I'm not complaining (Note to Charles if he's reading this, that does NOT mean you can charge me £15 more )

They could be a bit cheaper on the Oil I suppose, but then again, compared to the X5, the oil's a bargin!

Different Mileage equates to different cost - i.e an 18k is more expensive than a 6k - the factory have asked all service centres to set the same price accross the board so it should make a differnce were you service your car.

I'm afraid that this is not the case. We are not permitted to set service costs for our dealers by law.

While the factory has a fixed menu of service costs for people who choose to bring there car here to be maintained, individual dealers' service costs may differ.

If anyone would like to know what the factory charges for various services, please feel free to contact me via my profile.

Am I right in thinking the hourly labour rate is fixed?

...same applies: we cannot enforce hourly rates, though we have suggested a figure in the past to encourage some commonality in service costs.

Don't forget the guys who look after my car, Plans Motorsport. They only pay rates on an airfield so their cost base is lower!

From their web site;

Noble M12 GTO, 3, 3R, M400 Price
6,000 mile Service - Including Mobil 1 engine oil £459.00

Annual / 12,000 mile Service - Including Mobil 1 engine oil, gearbox oil & brake fluid change £599.00

I know its a plug but they're worth it.

In fact they're just south of Guilford. Good for SW London, not so good for Essex!

I hope this isn't construed as advertising, just a tip from one owner to another?
