Is it easy to change the rubber foot pedals in the M12? I'd like to change them to metal as I prefer the feel. Has anyone done this?

Do you mean change the whole thing, or just replace the rubber with a metal "bolt" on thing ala Halfords "max power" type pedals?

The accelerator is all metal, so you only have the brake and clutch to worry about.

Oh, no - I mean just the pad, sorry. I just wondered if it had any special fittings or if it was standard Mondeo like the rest of the car
When I test drove it, I could feel the bolt behind the rubber and it felt...odd. Guess I'm used to the metal footpads of my old s2000. So, easy enough to change, then?

ignore NOB...he was just trying to tot up a whole page of useless posts...by the way Rich...I understand you owe me some commission

It seems you took the advice I gave via a certain Mr Griffiths, so far as even buying the car I suggested you look at and signing up to PH.

Nice one mate, and welcome aboard. Mr Griffiths will no doubt be badgering you for lifts into work from now on

I'll have a look and see what I can find - but I presume it's just the standard "bolt on" thingy.

Oh, that's YOU is is it, Kent. I was planning to have a little search and see if 'you' were on here. Cheers mate. Your note crystallised a lot of the information I'd been building up over recent weeks. I'll get you a beer.
Just paid my insurance - £1528, but that's with zero NCB and I can park it on the street. Not bad.

Oh, and cheers Joust

sounds like suitable commission to me...just name the time and place (maybe the intermediary Griffiths could join as alien interloper)

Cheers, M

I'm presuming you've had metal pedals before? If you haven't, then you might not realise what a nightmare they are when the soles of your shoes are wet. I really wouldn't recommend them!

That's true, Dan, but you can get those metal pads with little ruber grips on, like Totes for cars. Guess I've just always had metal and, like most guys, I don't like the feel of rubber.
