..and it's not just Fantastic Factory..
Discussion
What fantastic support from the factory for Paul, but there are some fantastic 'little' guys out there as well...
Today (Day 3 of ownership of M400) and pulling into a parking slot, the power steering just lets go and dumps the whole lot onto the road.
Jeff -BMW mechanic from some where round Chelmsford - just came over and then spent the next hour and a half with me and 2 real nice guys from Motor World, which fortunately was about 50yd from where I broke down (car as well), identifying problem and getting the car mobile again. Jeff's family (wife and 2 young kids) just sat patiently in their car the whole while.
Problem - jubilee-clip which was shrouded under some form of covering (so wasn't obvious) underneath the wheel arch had just completely and catastrophically come apart. All I had was the posidrive screwdriver to open clams, so Motor World kindly supplied many J-clothes (PS fluid absolutely everywhere), tools, jubilee clips , stanley knife, cable-ties and bin-liner to put p-s fluid drenched wheelarch liner and shoes in. Oh and the replacement fluid of course, and then let me use their facilities to clean -up.
Lots of interested and polite by-standers (Chav 1 to Chav 2 - "now is not a good time to ask him how much it cost") and many taking piccies with their mobile phones..
So many thanks to the 'little' heroes as well as to those in the factory (whom I shall be having a quiet word with tomorrow.)

Richard - just one of those things, but it takes the shine off the new toy.
And you're right it does restore your faith, but I kinda suspect that the Noble looks and the marque do make a difference to the reaction. Now, if I were in a Porsche, would I have gotten the same response...?
I'll be back on track, once issues sorted and car properly run-in..

Rob - sorry to hear of your woes

Funny enough I have chatted to Lee about Jubilee clips. One went adrift on mine and I said to him "surely, if we can put man on the moon we can find something better than these dam silly clips?".
His answer was that there is better, but they cost significantly more and take much longer to assemble. When you have as many as the average car has it seems it just not that economic.
Glad you found some friendly people.

Yep - and look what happened to Colombia when a stupid little O-ring failed.
Just seen M400 vs FQ400 and what a bit of butt-kicking! Had to smile though when Vikkie said how fantastic the steering is - I'd told my 'local heroes' to watch to-night to see an M400 actually being driven, rather than sitting in a Chelmsford car-park with broken steering!
I'm sure they enjoyed it as much as me.

We can invent velcro and teflon, but can't sort the "little things"...
