Hi all
Here we are in Prague. Driving since 6pm Sat, arrived here 12pm sunday, none stop.
Our 15 mins of fame started at 10am Saturday. We moved the car ro Waterloo Place on display fro the public. I thought a few mates would turn up and that would be it. How wrong was I. Thousands of people.
Did the M400 get noticed? You bet. What a reception. Almost everyone loved it.
We set off at 6pm, rough, and what a site. I was told that when we get to Pall Mall it would be like the old rally days with crowds just parting like the red sea. Oh yeah, just dreaming.
We pulled out of the car park and the reception was unbelievable. They were right. The police, fantastic, and when the crowd saw the M400, what a reception. Thumbs up, roars of approval.
I am going to try and keep this short.
1. London to France, down the M20. We rally went for it, but made sure we did not go too much over the 150kph speed limit. First car we saw to get stopped, Ferarri, red looking thing, 123mph. Police everywhere. Ended up following a Police car for 50% of the way down. Bummer, missed the first train.
2. France to Belgium. We thought we would be clever. We had been told that 1mph over the speed limit and that would be the end. We skirted France all the down and then hung a sharpe left up to the first check point. Theory great, in practice we where lost. Turned up at the check point eventually at 1am. FANTASTIC. The whole of Belgium was there. We have the video to prove it! It took half an hour to travel 200 feet!.
3. Checkpoint to Prague. WOW. The rest of Belgium was great, police had a road block and checked all cars for radar wotsits. Anyone found with one had it confiscated. Glad ours is bukit in. M400 has been run in properly but the engine is still tight. Gemany was a breeze till the rain. 167mph seen on the clock! Arrived at the cz border. Nice police man wanted to know what the gadget was on the front number plate. Garage door opener says I, he beleived me. Phew. It has saved us loads of times.
4. Arive in Prague. Another large crowd. Fantastic.
Anyway, got to go, drink to be drunk and party party party.
To all, The Noble has fantastic respect from all. The attention we are getting is, no words left.
