Never, ever feel cheated if your Noble has a hiccup... thank your lucky stars that the factory (and most dealers) offer good support, and applaud British engineering at every opportunity...

Worse than that it sounds like a fault that is well known to the manufacturer and the manufacturer simply isn't interested in fixing it to the point of refusing to supply a replacement. Prospective buyers take note ...

Well if you read the linked thread on the Merc board, they know what it is, but given theres a fundamental problem don't just want to replace it for another 4k miles. I guess the question is whether or not they are developing a proper fix.

To be fair you get this type of thing with ALL car manufacturers.

Dan I did actually read it. MB just appear to be refusing to fix it. I would hazard a guess that prospective MB buyers would expect a higher level of service than this, that's all.

There's clerly a design fault with the clutch plate surfacing; it seems to "go off" after a few thousand miles and cause the noise/drive problems. OK, MB don't want to get sucked into replacing every clutch (at £2.5k a pop) on every AMG every 5k miles, but to dismiss the known fault with a fob-off "there's nothing wrong with the car" is disgusting. Its also surprising that such a well-known fault (by a lot of customers) is not well researched by the dealerships; mine has spent over four days on this and has held several conversations with MB to try and get something done... I spend 5 mins on the Internet and hey-presto, a range of solutions (if only temporary), but the most practical involves £5 and 5 mins... Waiting to hear what my dealer proposes to do. Half tempted to write to TG anyway (if I hadn't found the simple fix yesterday - hope it works - then I would have been asking for my money back today). Seriously, it makes the Noble "clonking clam" a fond memory!
