Hi all, I know the afterburner lights are available but I found a set of MK1 Mondeo Lexus lights - didn't know they did them till now. See the image. The only concern is that these are for the hatchback and not the saloon for which are used on the M12 and that they are a bit 'bling bling' or MAX POWER which wouldn't look good. Still looking into this as I'm pretty sure a German company is doing a set that are more EURO style looking rather than these silver shiny Lexus ones which don't fit.

Oh dear those don't look too good IMHO. I think we've been here already, well at least Rob has from memory.

Just buy the afterburners they are far far better.

Yeah but the afterburners are well naughty priced though.

I'm all for an alternative too but not £500-£600 worth.

Is it correct that the early 2.5's
(with the gap between the inside of the light and the black plastic upright) can fit the US lights in there ?

Now THAT I like the sound of (being an early 2.5 owner). Can anyone confirm?
BTW, those Lexus lights are pure council Cortina territory. I re-tocued them in (check previous threads) and they look terrible.

Afterburners are £495 fitted so not that bad.

Anything you get will cost you at least a couple of hundred IMHO and there are some things that should be avoided at any price!!

Even if you could get the US lights to fit would you pass an MOT. I didn't think they were Euro spec which the Marcos ones are.

Yep, as standard I belive they fail the MOT. I think it's something to do with the indicators.
Might be able to get over it with a bulb change and a bit of wiring though.

Yeah, and my girflriend can't understand why I don't buy a nice little Micra that doesn't smell funny or drain my bank account. Those are both her jobs, I guess.

I have had the afterburners fitted after much deliberation with these Max power options. The company that makes them are not making the saloon version, the US ones wont pass an MOT and I even tried a spray tint which looked ok but obvious!

Eventually had the afterburners that are 495 plus VAT making it £615. A bit expensive but they really look the business. I have an azure car and I think they really suit it. I also saw hunttheshunts (before he did ) on his silver car and they looked great too.

If you ask really nicely I could be persuaded to get the car out and post some piccies for all to see!!

I took a load of "funky" shots of my car last night at dusk in a field and will send them over to justin soon.

I was rudely interupted by the BIB who were asking many questions about the car and then ran a check on the plate. Guess they remembered the crime watch episode!!
