Just outside praparing and checking the car over for my first trackday (car limits training day) tomorrow, and have found the exhaust monifold bracket is broken (again).

Had it re-welded at the 6k service a month ago but now the other end of the bracket has gone!!!

Do you think it will be ok for tomorrow?

Is there anyone near Cambridge with a welder free tonight?? ;)

Thanks guys.

(I knew this forum would become super handy one day)

Also can someone remind me of the pre trackwork checks.

Which is the resevoir that I need to bung up? Is it the black one in the rear driver side middle with the screw cap octagon top thing. (good description huh?)

Yes!

Sorry about the exhast bracket problem. I'd definitely try to get it fixed before track use. Maybe a repair shop in Essex tomorrow morning would be an option.

Easier than that.

Get some wire.

Wrap it between the two pipes, going in and out of the holes in the bracket that are now broken, and using each side of the respective brackets to hold the wire.

Pull tight. Twist off.

And if you now try and move it you'll find it's far better than the "weld" ever was at holding things together.

If I wasn't in Nice I'd post a picture of the fix I did on mine. The best wire is that rather stiff garden wire with the plastic coating - take off the coating and it's ideal for holding the two together.
