Called Kerridges at 5pm last night to say that my exhaust bracket had snapped and that there is a creaking noise coming from the steering rack and this photo was taken at 9am this morning!

Now thats what I call great dealer service.

Should have it back by Saturday ready for the Northants run on Sunday.

And I just bought an extended warranty 2 weeks ago. Paid for that already then! ;)

Did you buy the warranty from Kerridge's Greg? I'm thinking ahead to December when I'll be in the market for an extended warranty... there's 1 particular dealer I'll never have anything to do with but Kerridges sound pretty impressive.

Cheers,
Dom.

Greg -did you get your phone call from TM?? Should have done and it will have saved you the £80 test fee.

Dom, Kerridges are a real bunch of Gentlemen. Its refreshing that there are still companies out there like them. They are a little laid back at times but do get a stirling job done and nothing is too much trouble.

I got a years warranty with the car when I bought it from them and then paid about £320 to add on an extra year making it 2.

The warranty is with www.autoprotect.net and I assume that Kerridges are used to getting good service from them. Its nice to use them as I am at the mo as I am guessing that they will do the claims stuff for me and on my behalf.

Its actually the upper ball joint thats gone and apparently thats quite rare. Hoping to have the car back on Saturday ready for the northants run on Sunday.

Rob, not sure what you mean by TM. Am I having a blond moment again??

Do you have the older style ones or the new ones? The new ones are supposed to be fine but IIRC it was about 3k+ to change to them as you needed new wishbones and hubs I think.

It doesn't matter. The "old" style also has an uprated version available, but be warned, the price of the ball joint itself leaps from £3 to a massive, outrageous, £11 each

The last set I had fitted to the M12 were the £11 ones, and they then lasted 8000+ miles and numerous track days without failing again.

I have no idea Nathan. Sorry. Its number R119 from May 2004 if that helps. Kerridges called today to tell me what it was and said its normally the lower ball joint that goes. They have never replaced an upper one.

This is the first thing that has gone wrong with the car BTW. Apart from the usual niggles and exhauts brackets etc, nothing major has gone. (not that this is even that major).

I am loving being in the Nobility. My sword looks lovely hung over the fire place too.

The Noble service centre told me the only way to not have to replace them every 3.5k miles was to get the later ones fitted at silly cost.

Unfortunatly its the lower ball joint thats gone and also the hub (boot) that now needs replacing too.

Only, Noble don't have the bits at the moment so I am not getting car back till next week and will miss the Northants run!!

DOH.

Still its a "normal" problem that happens to any and every car so I mustn't grumble!!
