Ground Clearance Question - Compared to Tuscan S
Discussion
Hi All,
Once again it is that post Le Mans time of year where I look to replace my car (currently TVR Tuscan)...
The problem is the choices are reduced year by year...it gets harder to find a car that won't be a backward step in performance terms!
However, performance is not the concern with the Noble, but rather ground clearance...my driveway is on a slope, and the front splitter on the Tuscan grounds (just) when reversing onto the driveway (and when going forwards the exhausts are very close to catching)
I suspect that because of this a Noble will not be an option (unless I move house), but does anybody have any relevant experience?
Failing that, could I persuade anyone local to pop round to my house and give it a go?

Can you measure the distance(s) from the ground to the bits that catch on your tuscan, including the distance they are away from the wheels (so I can do some simple "trig"
and then I'll see if I can give you an answer by doing the same on mine and "comparing".
These might help you as well
Loads of room

M400 has much more clearance as it doesn't have the splitter which is a good 15mm lower and much further forward.
I'm sold. M400 it is then. Best go see the bank manager.

If you want I'll re-do the piccies with the M400?

Don't worry for now...I'll take some measurements of the Tuscan tomorrow and then we can do a spot of trig!
I have 2 boards that I have to use to get over the pavement "dip" if I reverse in but its ok going forward at a 45 degree angle. It makes a huge difference as to what you can get over if you go at it at an angle.
You could remove the splitter which makes a massive difference, or get it reduced by 5mm as I am doing at the moment while my toy is being fixed at dealer.

I think the ground clearance is better on the Noble than the Tuscan S, based on watching them both go on/off my car transporter; on/off my workshop ramps; and also my drive at home.
You'll love the Noble, the only thing that lets it down is lack of luggage space for trips to Le Mans etc.

For a trip to LeMans I only used the space of one of the 6 bags despite taking three complete changes of clothes, cameras etc.
In space terms it's probably got twice what you can fit into an Elise, and very similar to the boot in the TS500 - you just have to pack slightly more carefully than just sticking it into a bag and throwing it into the rear.
Just beacause you can't see the boot, doesn't mean it hasn't got any space!
