I think I may have found the right car at last!.
It's a 3R 53 reg at a Noble dealer immaculate, virtually no mileage(although I wanted a higher mileage one to keep the purchase price down),nice colour scheme, and if they accept my offer I'll probably have it........but it hasn't got a track sump.Now at the mo' it's unlikely I'm going to track the car anyway (would rather use other people cars for that!), but if any of you were buying a Noble would you look upon it as,
A: Essential for resale as most/many are tracked?
B: Proof that the seller had never tracked it and therefore it was probably a well cared for pampered car?

As to resale, I think it would limit the number of people interested, as most cars have it. To retrofit is pretty expensive too, so I'd affect the price to reflect is absence.
this the bit that concerns me,because the price is o.k. for such a low mileage car(still has the little spikes on the tyres!) but then balanced by no track sump. And if it limits it's resale even more in a very small market(or maybe thats because of some hopelessly optimistic prices in the private market)then that would concern me.
If the price is right when selling it'll go. In the end the market sets the price and not the seller. As you say that you don't want to track it and in some ways find it reassuring there is no sump I suspect others will too. You'd be surprised by how many nobles don't go anywhere near a track. The fact that it can be retrofitted is always something you can mention to a buyer, although I'd deny knowledge of the cost
Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide. The only certain with cars is that you will lose money whatever!

Look under the car, if the bottom of the sump is pretty much level with the rear undertray and the sump has a clear weld line running all the way around it then it has a track sump fitted.

I bought a 3R without a track day sump never intending to race it.
You very soon realise, however, that you cannot drive the car to its' full potential on the road and when a Noble Track Day comes along you have no choice but to have the sump fitted. I was concerned that accessing the sump through the floor would weaken the thing but as the factory are doing the work I am confident all will be as it should be.
Buy the car.
Fall in love with it.
Have the sump changed (this month preferably) and love it even more!
