What did JC mean by TVR used the bloke who set the Noble to set up the Sagaris ?

Did my ears deceive or did he say Nobles are probably the best handling car in the world?

Just noticed you beat me to it Greg

True but the saggy was quicker around the track! Stunning if it was on normal road tyres, and perhaps a little suspicious!

Just to make this absolutely clear, the comment made on tonight's Top Gear about TVR '...using the same guy who set up the Noble for the Sagaris' is:

COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY INCORRECT!

TVR and Noble share absolutely no development data, and have never done so.

It also appears that the Sagaris beat the Noble by 0.5 seconds around the track. Please bear in mind that the Noble's figure shown on the board was posted two years ago with a (now obsolete) M12 GTO-3. The Stig drove the latest M400 model around the track in a time of 1min 22.1, but since this was part of another feature, the time was never posted on the board.

Since many people attach a great deal of importance to the comments made and data recorded on Top Gear, I feel it is important to clarify anything Noble-related.

Sorry, Dan - unfortunate word to use.

Then again, the Ferrari F40's obsolete, and I don't think anyone would argue that it was anything less than an automotive classic...

I followed an F40 the other day for a 20 minute blast and although I can't post any data about the roads or speeds encountered, the Noble really was amazing by comparison.

One of the best driving moments of my life. Maybe not so good for the F40 owner.

I've just emailed the BBC and told them to sort the 'Power Board' out before the little old ladies in their TVR's get too cocky!

How about we as the 'Nobility' send a petition to JC to get the M400 time officially posted.....im sure if it was well written and had some comedy value to it, it would get a mention....he is a clown after all.

I had already done this too.

Why don't we all drop them an email - they might get the message

I'm sure you're right, but it seems a strange thing to come up with if it's completely untrue. Any idea where the 'same guy' story originates?

Also asked them to put an Ultima round the track, as I'm sure that it would wup the Enzo and MC12.

I've just e-mailed them. I also commented on reliability, and asked how many Tiv owners would dare drive thier car to Spain and use it as a daily driver.

Although incorrect (as Simon says) I don't see it as a bad thing that it was said. JC saying that the Noble guy sorted the TVR setup and that the Noble is the best handeling car in the world, is pretty damn good PR in my book.

Sure you all agree, just commentig.

Bye.

To an extent, I agree. But I don't see why Noble should provide good PR for TVR. And I think (in fact I know, after talking to them today) that TVR feel the same way.

To be honest it's like saying that Waitrose are now using a stock control system designed by Tesco.

Arch-rival brands/marques helping each other?
