Is there anything can be done on the seats of the 3R where the side upper and lower edges (entry point) have been badly worn away?

Also, the leather has discoloured badly where the hardness attached on the bottom of the seat.

How much is a new seat?

Are there any Noble re-trim specialists out there?

Repairers? etc?

Chris,

Yes, wear to the seat edges can be repaired. Again, if you call me at the office on Monday or mail me I will get a quote for you from our trimmers. It should be a lot less than replacing the seat altogether.

Yes, but it won't necessarily last as every time you get in and out you rub this area - particularly with your belt back!

Inspecting mine this morning the leather appears to be very very thin, I think I'm going to be treating it every week as it's already starting to wear at 2500 miles!

My seats were worn at 2000 miles. The factory do not recognise this as warranty item! Alcantara seems to wear better than South African leather (perhaps they should use Elephant hide). Vegantune recognise the problem and supply some acceptable covers that velcro in place and cover the worn areas. Makes more sense than retrimming the whole seat.

I'm a bit puzzled as my previous car, which was late 02 didn't seem to have particularly worn leather on the seats. You could tell it had been sat on, but for 20k miles it was doing fine.

Did the leather grade go down or something?

I have the same problem but do not live near the factory but in Kent. Is there anyway near Maidstone that can effect repairs?

That's an interesting thought, because I have an 02 model with 10.5 on the clock, yet my leather looks fine. I was wondering if I was the only owner under 18 stone.

We can replace the leather on a worn side bolster section at the factory for £149 + VAT.

Please e-mail simon.bloxham@noblecars.com if you'd like us to carry out the work.

Andy G, the previous owner emailed me. Apparently, he got the seats retrimmed in leather on delivery as all seats came with alcantara on them from SA back in the day. It would explain the superior leather quality!
