beeping

Having just recently aquired my GTO I have noticed than after starting the car the are a series of about six beeps. Sounds like its related to the alarm but not cetain. can anyone thow any light on it

Is your cover on your radio?

Don't think I have a cover. Its a Sony and has a grafics screen which opens to reveal the cd slot and a panel of buttons. there is no cover as such and the front panel is closed

What I meant was that on my factory fitted Sony unit there's a removable front cover and when it is left in place (and you switch off the ignition) it beeps to alert you to the fact - not sure if this is what you are experiencing though?!

it beeps after i have started the engine not when i turn it off

Do you have a tracker on the car ?

I recall 6 bleeps as a magic number, but I can't recall why !

Have a navtrac tracker I think it must be that . Not sure what the beeps mean maybe its telling me I haven't been stolen !

Did you take over the Navtrak contract when you bought the car?

Either way, it sounds like a phone call to them is needed - they'll be able to tell you what the beeps mean.

If it's a proactive tracker then its because you haven't waved the magic item at it.
