Have tried a search, but can anyone please tell me exactly what series of Ford Fiesta the heater control knobs come from, and if anyone has changed them for alloy ones or similar. Now I've had the car 3 whole weeks there is just a little bit of detailing I'd like to do to the car with the bits that are obviously "parts bin"

Let me know haw you get on as I would love to change them. Think they really let down the interior.

And, my heat nob is so tight its either full cold or full hot! Only need to use about a 5mm sweep of it to go from hot to cold.

I am in the process of getting some made in billet ali, quite tricky, if you pull one off you will see it isnt just a simple knob. Also the fan control has a light for the aircon, which is causing a bit of a problem. Will let you know more when i get them.

While we're on the subject of heater knobs and heating:
When on cold, the air vents on my Noble blow warmish air (when the engine is warm) do they all do this? Or maybe there is water leaking through to the heater matrix when it shouldn't.
Answers on a postcard.

Its always been like that afaik. Standard heat soak I think. My Elise was exactly the same, although fortunately on the elise, opening the windows didn't let all the hot air thats been through the rad into the cabin.

My heater control knobs did not work at all when I first got my car. The air con never blew cold air.

Through the advice of the 1G guys, we found that there were other cables, etc. wrapped around the control cables. It now works just fine and blows cold air. I can drive on a 100 degree day here in Texas and the air con works fine.

I would think your dealer should be able to make the heater work properly.

Can the nobs not just be dipped or some similar process?
