Hi,
I'm currently looking around to replace my TVR Chimaera that was killed last month. Current thoughts are either a newer quicker TVR or possibly a Noble M12 - seen a few 03 models for just over 30k (specifically, there's one at Adrian Blyth - its on the classifieds - a 3 litre with red interior).
Anyway, I'm looking for a bit of advice...
- what should I be looking out for on these cars? has anyone put together a Noble buyers guide?
- how are the running costs compared to something like a TVR Cerbera or Tuscan?
- what are the service intervals? whats the usual true service cost?
- hows the reliability? I've heard rumours its really good
- also, does anyone know any details of that specific car mentioned above?
I'm planning to go have a look/drive maybe later this week so I'm trying to learn as much as possible first. Any info much appreciated!
Cheers

Just do it!

The reliability is excellent and performance superb (better then the 355 spider I had before on both counts!)

Evo magazine did a buyers guide about 3 months ago. I expect someone on the forum will have a copy around.

I've had 4 TVRS,
The Noble build quality is leagues ahead.
It feels quicker than any of them.
The handling, damping, grip is on another planet
It gets more attention
The factory are more accomodating
The owners are not as blinkered generally...............................................................................and er the interior is a bit "parts-bin" no, in fact its completely logical and functional.....so there you are!

Let me tell you how special the M12 is big_treacle(?!) - don't get one as they're absolutely bloody awful - they...

- can't handle to save their lives (or yours!).
- always come sprayed in unattractive colours (especially in Spain!).
- never start first time.
- are cramped with no luggage space.
- will allow you to form deep and meanigful relationships with AA and RAC men.
- come with an absolutely daft sounding horn.

...and for almost £60 grand no one will ever notice you!

Ah yes, a really a crap motor - don't bother matey - there are far too many on the road anyway!

Eather AMG Merc has had a really bad day in his Noble, or has gone totally mad or is joking.

If your considering buying one, then you will!

Don't know of any folks who have come on here asking those sort of questions and have not fallen totally in love with an M12 once they made the right move!

You only live once.

Go for it !

Plenty owners on here have went from TVR to M12 without regret.

Yes the M12 can have niggles but so can any mass produced car on the road. My M3 and Alfa's had more problems.

The car is simply sensational for the money.

Sounds good so far!

How much do you guys generally have to fork out for servicing? My previous car was around £500 - £2k every 6k miles, so I'm ready for anything! What are the intervals on the m12?

Also, for the GTO3, have there been any critical updates to the model since it was launched? I'd hate to end up getting a car and finding that I should've got one a month newer!

Cheers

I had a 4.2 Cerbie. Then a Noble.
Noble is cheaper to run, much faster (especially in the twisty bits), makes you feel excited (usually without scaring the sh1t out of you) all the time, doesn't leak.
Buy one!
