wet legs

Just been out in the car and my left leg is all wet. Whilst this may be down to the quality of my driving the carpet on the inside of footwell is also wet. My initial thoughts are air con but has anyone had similar problems or know what it might be

I had the same issue in the passenger footwell. Having eliminated the possibility of my girlfriend relieving her fear, I finally put it down to a gromet out of place up behind the dash, letting in rain and wash-water. This was confirmed by the garage who replaced it. Unfortunately, as I didn't do the dirty work, I can't offer details on how to repair the problem, if indeed that is the problem.
There, I think that was almost useful.

I had (and now have again) a crack in the heater box that let water in. Odd thing is it never came in whilst driving, only when the car sat on the drive.

It took a while to find it and I started driving the car with my trousers rolled up. When I got out it looked like I was in some Noble freemasons club!

Was it hot day with the aircon on? Last year had similar problem traced to too short a pipe leading from the aircon condenser so every time went around a roundabout a bit to smartish water leaked into cabin. Easily fixed by Mole Valley fitting extention to the drain pipe. Other than that worth looking at heater problem as I had same when car was new.

Two and a half years I've had this bloody problem from new (TWO AND A HALF YEARS!) and after seven (SEVEN!) attempts by the factory and dealers to sort it it's now looking like it's finally fixed. It was caused by condensation build up in the heater box not being dispelled through the outlet pipe. Just being deposited all over driver's or passenger's legs.

And what did they do to fix it ?

It seems there was a multitude of problems with it and the standard outlet pipe could not be used so they have drilled a hole and put a new pipe in. Shame I've had to sit through three boiling summers like this but better late than never.

This was eventually solved by Vegantune by the way so well done to those boys as usual.

Thanks for all you help. I think we have it sorted. There should be a neck on the heater box and attached to that a pipe to channel the water out onto the road. The neck and the pipe appear to be missing. After a quick call to the factory who were as helpful as ever the heater box is being removed and a neck fabricated and pipe attached. The only downside is that driving it to the garage I picked up a puncture ( and I just thought it was a bit twitchy because the road was wet.) so two new rear tyres as well.
That together with a front end respray, a new expansion tank ,a nearside wing mirror fixed and the radio sorted. At this rate its costing about a grand a week ( only had it 3 weeks tomorrow ) but I am hoping this will reduce somewhat with time

Mine was the same. I picked it up from the garage, fresh from an £1,100 service. Two weeks later, I faced a new bill for £2,500, to repair al the things the service didn't really cover. Then I crunched the front end a little. Add in my excess, and I'm looking at about £4000+ for about 6 weeks of driving.
Ah well. It's only money - and somehow it seems worth it. Doesn't it?
