New windscreen
Discussion
Has anyone had their windscreen replaced yet?
I was driving back from Bedford on Friday, when I got twatted by, what can only be described as a small rock, thrown up from an HGV travlling in the opposite direction. So I now have a fat spider right in my line of sight.
Just wondering if Autoglass would be OK or is it best to go to the dealer or specialist?

I have had 2 screens now, both by autoglass, did a very good job. I spoke to simon at noble and got autoglass to call him to sort out the screen supply. might be worth speaking to him first as supply used to be a nightmare ( i had to wait 6 weeks) but think they have got a uk supplier now.
Hope that helps.

're-wax'? I've scratches on my dash after the RAC fitted a tracker-thingy. I didn't notice them at first which is why it's going to be difficult to get them to pay to fix it. The dealer says the only way to get them seen to is return the dash to the Factory which is both time consuming and EXPENSIVE. I've sent an email to 'lucozade' but I thought I'd ask if anyone else on here know of a company proficient enough to carry out small repairs?

This one has been written about before - the dash is made of an unusual painted material that can be marked or scratched fairly easily. For small marks and scratches use simple soap and a soft nail brush (believe it or not!) and it comes up a treat. Also, the factory can supply the specific paint that is on it for touch-ups but it your is badly gouged then I would first try to avoid taking the dash out - have them remove the windscreen out instead and then you have access to the entire dash top - much faster, easier and cheaper!
Good luck!

So, warm water and soap to moisten the 'paint' and the brush to move it around?
Well it doesn't really wet the paint. Just prepare the soft brush with soap as if you're going to scrub your nails and then use a firm circular motion and remove the soap before it dries with a soft cloth/towel - may need a couple of goes. but mine was marked up all over from a dirty cleaning cloth and all has been removed.
As always best to try a small patch first underneath perhaps!
