Had the Faulks wand (as Paul put it) over my 2.5 today.....bloody hell.......what a difference!

There is no longer any sudden thump in the back as the turbo's suddenly spool up, it's been replaced by a very very smooth torque curve with not far short of a full 1 bar of boost when the foot is pressed fully to the floor. Car feels completely different.

Won't be on track for a while (car developed other niggle), but aside from the extra boost, this has to be better on track as the acceleration is now more constant due to smooth turbo spool up. If you dont put your foot all the way down you dont get full boost....feels much much faster and far more controllable.

First time I've met Matt but he obviously knows his stuff and get's a big thumbs up from me

No not Matt, but when you are shagging the car you'll also notice it runs 10-15'c cooler because of a richer map.

Paul,
Does that mean the MPG figure drops drastically?

I average 6 mpg so not sure I'd notice! Mine may also run cooler because of the side scoop mods. These make a massive difference to the general under clam temps.

Yes, he is, and no i'm not shagging him either, he may be good with a spanner, but Angelina Jolie's still above him on my list at the mo. !!!

Now if Angelina could fix a car sorry Matt but you'd be dropped like a stone !!!

Martin,

Very little difference in fuel economy when using the car on the road. Only when the extra power is used will the MPG drop accordingly.

So is this map a completly new one or a modification to the factory map - is there a map for the 3L cars as well?

It is, in the conventional sense, a re-map in that various base calibrations are maintained but with certain tables modified.

We are currently developing a power upgrade for the non-M400 specification 3 litre cars however at this time I cannot give a firm date when it will be available.

Best Regards
