Hello All,
I'd like to ask your impressions with Corsa's in wet conditions - both on the public road and on the track.

Thank you
Ted

Corsas need to get warm before you get that superb grip.
Normal rainy road conditions are ok - just be careful with the right foot. However if there's any standing water you can aquaplane with ease.

On track you have more opportunity to get the Corsas warm but again standing water can have you aquaplaning. It's all quite prectable though, so you can still have fun.

Anyway that's only my 2p's worth of experience - more experienced drivers will have different opinions no doubt.

Chili is dead right. I've run them in the rain on the track and they were pretty darn good but at 2200 lbs, you'll be one of the first cars to hydroplane. Standing water is your enemy.

Wet weather is fine, standing water is "interesting".

On snow, they are actually rather good (as I found out 4 weeks after buying the car!)

And swiftly flowing deep water, very very interesting.

Having recently ordered an M400 I am a tad concerned at the comments regarding its standard fit tyres! As at first I will be using the car mainly on the road, keeping it there is quite important to me (ha ha!). How bad are the tyres in heavy rain on roads where large puddles are the norm! ( we are talking the UK's roads here !!!)
Obviously I will try to drive more carefully in bad weather but it would be useful to know what to expect before I find out the hard way!
My first Noble by the way so can't wait!!!!!!

I think that's the important point; it wouldn't be so much of a problem with a car with "normal" amounts of power to weight.

It's an "overstated" problem IMHO. The tyres are very good at clearing water, particularly if they have >4mm of tread left.

I spent an enjoyable two days in the lake district, with it being pretty much like a lake on the roads, without it ever loosing traction.

It happily outhandled a new Bently Continental who eventually pulled over to let me by (with a friendly wave) as he was clearly not enjoying the speed we were travelling at. The Noble was totally composed throughout.

If you hit a "lake" at speed then it will aquaplane, but if you just lower your speed it's fine.

As with all cars, if you behave sensibly when it's wet, then there really is no issue.
