Trade £49,000 Retail £53,000 (but find the right buyer and more is possible) - IMHO!

Clutch and engine blown? Did you downshift into 2nd at 120mph?
Clutch mysteriously disintegrated for no apparent reason, they called it a rare component failure, not that I noticed anything, its just something they found when it was stripped, and the engine big ends etc failed apparently due to oil starvation even though it had plenty of oil, but apparently it can happen while driving on a circuit?
BTW Noble said it invalidates the warranty if you use it on a track, but have still covered the work under warranty, I think because the failed clutch caused damage to the main crank seal, causing excessive oil loss, noticeable ALL over engine and gearbox/ NSR tyre? But as we all know that happens every time you use the car as it was supposedly designed for?

AFAIK, Noble covers engine damage due to oil starvation whilst on a track when a "trackday sump" option is fitted which is why many of us have one (I guess cover is only during the 12 month/ 12,000 mile warranty period though).
BTW, Noble is the only car company I know of that offers this cover!

The M400 has a track-day sump fitted as STANDARD but it wasn’t up to the job, and Noble NOW tell me that although they will fix it THIS TIME, the warranty DOES NOT COVER TRACK USE, so don’t think track use is covered.
The twelve months warranty is JUST for the public highway NOT FOR TRACK use indeed I believe even driving on German roads technically invalidates your warranty?
Does this mean that when Noble invites you on one of their track days you have NO WARRANTY? And do they warn you before hand?

Sorry, of course it has a trackday sump!
I'm sure I have a piece of paper from Noble somewhere that says if I track the car then it MUST be fitted with a trackday sump or no claims for engine damage will be comsidered (during the warranty period) - have they done a u-turn on this I wonder (in which case why did I pay 4-figures extra for a trackday sump?!)
Does anyone officially cover track use though? I know Porsche, BMW, Noble, TVR etc tend to pay up but is there anything in black and white to include track use? I wouldn't be surprised if the official line puts you on thin ice.
Besides, it's asking a lot of a road car to take track use and not break from time to time. Whether or not we should expect the manufacturer to swallow the bill when we do break it is arguable I'd say.

I don't think any company wants to give itself the liability of officially stating they support track use. That gives them room to manoevre and consider the circumstances. My cars ECU logs how many times you over rev the engine. If it fails and its happened a lot, you don't get a huge amount of sympathy from the factory...
