Please let me pass on my sincere apologies for not keeping you better informed about the Noble owners' day on FRIDAY, 28TH OCTOBER, 2005. I've been rather busy here at the Noble press office and have just not had the chance to tie together the last few arrangements for the day.

I will be posting full details on our website early next week, as well as posting them on PH too.

The format for the day will be very similar to the March event, and obviously the venue will still be ROCKINGHAM MOTOR SPEEDWAY, near Corby, Northants.

We will be keeping ticket prices the same as before, but will make alternative catering arrangements, since this was a distinctly weak link in March.

The one notable change will be the use of the National, rather than International circuit. Many owners found that the banked part of the International circuit we used last time was potentially dangerous. FYI, the National is the full infield circuit which sits in the middle of the Rock's oval. It's still great fun, but will mean a maximum 20 cars on the track at any time. Timed sessions, or a marshalled cut off when the maximum number of cars is out? Let me know what you think...

Please do not send any cheques until I have put a proper schedule and itinerary together next week.

Thanks again for your patience!

Simon

Simon,
Would much prefer the International circuit as before.

Excellent - count me in.

I love the national circuit, so that's great news. I think the open pit lane with marshall limit will be best - sure there will be an inital "rush" but it soon settles down as people chat about all things Nobilus....

Will I need a track day sump to participate?

If you've got any sense

Obviously I can't come to this one since changing marque, but I'd go with open pit too. Judging by last time there won't be that many wanting to be out at the same time anyway.

Glad I wasn't the only one lifting off on the banked section!

No, I was planning on flying over, staying at a swanky hotel, then thrashing the sh1t out of your car. That's OK, isn't it?

Martin.

Marshalled cut-off is the best way.

I can't remember seeing more than 20 cars on circuit when the International one was used in March anyway.

Now to find some insurance company for the day. (£352 the last time).

Cya all there

I would say marshall cut off. I hate sessioned days! I'd be surprised if numbers were as high as March turnout with this being a weekday anyway?

I too would've preferred the international circuit but we have to go with the masses. What's the national circuit like? Looks a bit short of good straights. What are we looking at max about 110mph? Again for good fun with low fear factor this is perhaps a good thing? I was looking forward to buzzing along the wall at 140mph and that drop into the piff paff prior to the pit lane exit was awesome!

Agreed - marshall cut-off rather than sessions. Better catering sounds excellent and is there somewhere (inside) that we can gather and eat during the day? If so this may even help reduce the numbers trying to get onto the circuit, as well as helping on the social side.

It's vital to have decent catering and somewhere to shelter. Late October is not going to be warm.

Shelter's a good point. I had back ache for two days after the last one from standing outside all day!

Simon, I'd start it sessioned and then go open pit lane when and if everyone is driving properly. I'd bet you you'd get less stoppages this way, which means that in the end everyone benefits by getting more track time.

By the way, if anyone's unsure of the National Circuit's layout, see the current (until tomorrow) issue of Autocar: it's where they set all their times for the Best Driver's Car feature and there's a clear plan of the track.
