Get some 048's on all round Obes and treat it to some Nitrons at the same time

Alternatively www.blackcircles.com have S-03's for around £105 + VAT each, although you will need to factor fitting into that price.

They'll either ship just the tyres to you or ship them to one of their fitment centres all over the UK, you then arrive on the arranged day/time and they fit them. Prices do differ depending if you want just mail order or fitment as well. The site is fairly good though and they do stock a decent range of tyres and sizes.

Nitrons are around the £1000 mark. Well worth it IMO. Along with the corsa's they have transformed the cars handling. Give Matt a shout, i know he now supplies them.

I took my S03s off at 3000 miles and put on the Corsas.

It made a HUGE difference. If you were in the US I would sell you mine cheap.

In other words the S03s are rubbish as you say on that side of the pond.

Hardly garbage surely?!

So, didn't the factory suggest NOT changing to Corsa's on a 3R - factory?

I think the common belief is that the S03 is the best all round tyre. The corsa's / yokos really a nitron/ohlin/m400 susp upgrade to get the best out of them.

For the road, including wet / dry / slippery stuff the SO3's are a cracking tyre.

The biggest problem is they overheat and then rapidly start to rip chunks off themselves after a few hot laps on track. A set of Corsa's lasts me 8-10 track days on the front, 4-5 on the rear - but I have been known to trash aSO3s in just one track day.....

The Corsa's are best "interesting" in the wet. Not dangerous, just nowhere near as good as the SO3's (but that's hardly suprising when you look at them!)

Corsas PLUS standing water = aquaplane with ease.

Most drivers would think aquaplaning is dangerous!

Obes, I have a full set front and rears SO-3's, they are a good all round tyre. They have done aprox 200 motorway miles, negligeable wear, loose tyres, virtually as new £ 350 cash (no vat). I live in Bristol, don't know cost of postage. Ring if interested 07779 125576
