Just wondering if anyone has seen this before...

My alarm has had a few funny turns - usually just ignoring the keyfob for a bit and not letting me lock or unlock the car (depending on which would be most inconvenient at the time).

Just now it's gone all quiet; the car locks/unlocks, the indicators flash, the alarm LED flashes as usual - but no audio confirmation of the lock/unlock (which I did find pretty annoying anyway, to be honest).

Any ideas? I don't feel like pulling the alarm to pieces to check the sounder contacts, but I guess I really should set the alarm off to verify that it does actually still work. Is locking it then opening a clam the easiest way to get the alarm sounding?

Thanks,
Hugo

Mine did this following a heavy rainstorm. I wondered if it might correct itself after a dry period. Alas, no. Does anybody know the cheapest place I can get a new horn? I'm guessing it's just water damaged.

Hugo, try resetting the alarm unit first (see the manual).

My alarm would cease working after driving through heavy rain but then return to normal after drying out.

Whilst giving the car a wash for tomorrow, the alarm went off (proving that the sounder *did* work)... however, I couldn't turn it off. The fob locked/unlocked the doors but had no affect on the alarm noise, neither did the touch-tag.

Stopped by itself after a couple of embarassing minutes. I think I'm going to have to go in with a multimeter when I have a moment

I presume the "fob" battery is OK?
