M400 in South West?

I am considering exchanging my Lamborghini Gallardo for a M400 (plus some cash of course!) but the car is some distance away. My main concern is can I fit in the car comfortably with a crash helmet on? I am 6ft 2".

I have read the thread on this issue but it remains inconclusive - I guess it depends on if you are long backed, short legged etc or vice versa.

Is there a kindly M400 owner south of Bristol (I'm in Plymouth) who I could meet up with to try a car for size - naturally you would be welcome to enjoy a Gallardo experience in exchange?!

Mine is in Surrey, not convenient but you are welcome to sit in if you are passing. On the other hand isn't there a dealer in Bristol?

I'm 6' 3" long legged and long bodied. No problems without a helmet. With a helmet my head rests against the over the door part of the roll cage but its not a problem. You soon forget about it when you're out on teh black stuff.

David, to get back to the original question, it seems that thare are 6'4" guys who find it great, and yet there are 0'2" guys who don't fit. You'll just have to get a test drive...what about the dealer in South Wales?

Drhildr, I live in Bristol and have an M12 gto-3 I am pretty sure the inside is the same size as the M400, you are welcome to try. Also Domx lives near devises and he has an M400, nice chap sure he would ablige.

Never sat in the drivers seat of an M400 but at 6'6 and a half the GTO3 was fine, I had the bottom of the seat made into a removeable panel to give a bit of extra room for a helmet too. Hopefully the m400 seats don't remove too much room.

The bottom 2-3" of padding on the M400 seats is removable and so you should be fine (I'm 6' and have absolutly no issues with a helmet - there is about 1-2" free above my head with the padding in place).

As the padding is removeable (it's just velcro'd on), you could get a 'skinny' pad made up easily.

You can try my GTO3R at Clevedon (5 mins from J20-M5).

Alternatively I have just taken some measurements;

The Noble has a height of 926mm from seat to roof.
The CSL has 25mm more.

I tried it without the velcro secured cusion but found it to be uncomfortable plus it didn't hold me firmly in the seat, esp. on track, so I had the seat adjusted down (well tilted backwards). The adjustability is standard on the M400 albeit it requires a spanner.

If the car is being sold by a dealer then the prospective buyer should be able to have the adjustment done prior to the sale being agreed.
