Driven it.

The noise is unbelievable.

The handling fantastic.

WOW.

Would I swop the M400?

Not a chance, but the Aston is a real work of art.

I have ordered it, can't afford it but what the hell. Drive it for a few months and sell it.

Arrives Late December early Jan.

YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE!

I was on that waiting list. To be honest, it seems that there isn't going to be the shortage that has been predicted from what I can see. A few people that should be in the know are talking about "another Gallardo" when it comes to prices after the first few months.

As Ash says, it's a cracking car, but it's no M400, is relativly slow when you compare it to other £80k cars, and I just really can't get on with the "gaping mouth" look at the front - it's ruined the looks for me.

It also seems to me that most of the soul has been knocked out of it by the 2 million development miles by Ford - it apparently went through the same process as a Ford Focus goes through.

Enjoy it Ash - it's a great car, but it wasn't special enough for me to make me get rid of one of the others in my collection to fit it on the drive.

It's supposed to be quicker than a GT3 round the 'ring so I'd say it was in the right ballpark speedwise (not M400 quick but then not much is) and it has had £2m development miles and has a boot which does make it an attractive proposition, have you driven one too Justin?

Where did you get that about the ring? Not heard it before and I'm a tad sceptical Power to weight is a fair bit down.

I even met someone in Aston PR who said their engineers accepted it wasn't the drivers tool a 911 is!

Pretty sure it was in autocar when the mules were first spotted , what is the power to weight of it?

Projected Performance figures:
- Maximum power: 283kW (380 bhp / 385 PS) @ 7300 rpm
- Maximum torque: 410Nm (302 lb.ft) @ 5000 rpm
- Maximum speed: 280 km/h (175 mph)
- 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds
- 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.0 seconds
- 1570 kg

A GT3 would have it for breakfast. Even the 997S beats it soundly on speed and dynamics.

Still its not all about speed & performance is it? Its about deluding yourself you are James Bond

Top gear hate 911s, and none of them can pedal for toffy... Clarkson will mutter something about the 911 being dynamically superior but never being let out at junctions + having it keyed etc.

Its a nice car but I don't buy it being quicker than a 997S.

Very interesting their comments. It seems to echo Autocar, Car, Evo et. all in that it's turned out to be quite a dissapointment when you look at what else you can get for your money.

For me, even on paper, it really needs another 50 or so horses in there - it's 0-60 is very slow by todays standards for an 80k car. It seems that Clarkson found the noise didn't match the performance...

Then again these reviews do miss the point. For 99% of people that last 10% of performance is irrelevant. The theatre of the AMV8 is spectacular and infinitely more accessible. Do have a couple of wonders about interior quality though having read comments on here.
